INTERPRETATION MOROCCO
A nation in north Africa bordering the Atlantic Ocean & Mediterranean Sea-it is across from Spain. It is officially known as the Kingdom of Morocco. It is an Islam nation with Sunni Islam as its official religion (99%) with Islam symbols on its flag, Allah in its motto and Arabic as its language. It claims Western Sahara as its southern provinces which is disputed and resulted in guerrilla war and discord in that nation. It is a constitutional Monarchy with a king.
They have a large diaspora , especially in Europe. Christians suffer persecution and most meet secretly in house churches.
Culturally it is a diverse nation that combines Moroccans, Jewish and Arabic cultures along with French & Spanish and American influences. They have a strong, diverse economy, high tourism as they advertise the nation as cheap & exotic and safe for tourists. It is home to Casablanca. Many Europeans come for the beaches but the historic heritage & culture is also a big draw.
They grow cannabis that is a major export and it is estimated that 80% of cannabis hashish consumed in Europe comes from Morocco.
It is one of the most liberal Muslim nations in the world although they practice Sharia Law and womens rights aligned under that law. Women are sexually harassed when walking the streets, not in government nor own property ,etc.
