INTERPRETATION OF ANGOLA
Angola is a South African nation on the Atlantic Ocean coast.
Portugal occupied and ruled it for over 400 years before they gained independence in 1975, so strong Portugal influence in culture.
Religion- 60% Roman Catholic, 10% protestant, in 2013 they became the first country to ban Islam and mosque as being contrary to the nations culture!
Education is mandated for k-8th but literacy is a problem among the rural areas because in great part the teachers are poorly paid and often resort to abuse/extortion; mobile schools are becoming popular because rural areas still have “land mine fields” from a prolonged civil war, poverty and poor health despite Angola being a rich nation it is socialist and most all suffer.
INTERPRETATION OF IMAGERY
UNDIVIDED, saw that underneath it all they stand for Christ and His truth and have kicked the “strongman of Islam” out of the house, and so they will be strong & free as they continue to honor Jesus. Pray for the “hidden” things to be revealed and solutions to the problems.
Mar 3:24 If a country divides itself into groups which fight each other, that country will fall apart. Mar 3:27 “No one can break into a strong man’s house and take away his belongings unless he first ties up the strong man; then he can plunder his house.
