Eastern orthodoxy (76%)is recognized religion of the country but freedom of religion is guaranteed. They promote tolerance and proud of a square that has several religious structures near each other. Islam was about 12% in 2011 but in 2016 they have banned radical Islam and full burkas and dealing with extreme immigration and demanding immigrants.
Fire is an essential element of Bulgarian folklore to banish sickness and evil spirits behind it which they consider witches and other such creatures
