It gained independence in 1962 from the UK, but is a Commonwealth realm of England with the Queen as its Monarch but its own governing body.

Motto- out of many, One People-- from the two main original tribes; Coat shows a man & woman holding a banner with this on it. Working together to build. Their other motto is “ God Save the Queen”
One of the highest murder rates in the world, high crime, most Jamaicans against the LGBT movement. Voodoo, a form of witchcraft, is illegal yet popular in rural areas and secretly practiced by many.
